What's covered?

Your extras cover pays benefits toward a wide range of dental, optical, and allied health services, such as physiotherapy and remedial massage. Each service (or group of services) has a maximum limit per person or per policy that is payable each year or another specified period of time. Your product guide contains a complete list of benefits and limits. Annual limits reset on 1 January, and you can check your usage via our member portal and the mobile app.

Benefits are paid for treatment by registered practitioners in private practice and recognised therapists approved by us. If you are not sure your practitioner is registered, please contact us to check. 

Additional benefits

Active Health Bonus

Active Health Bonus is a reward available to members with Comprehensive Extras combined with Gold Hospital cover to pay out-of-pocket costs for extras (up to the annual limit).  

Ambulance transport

In states where this isn't provided by the government, emergency ambulance transport is covered when you have combined hospital and extras cover.

Health management

We offer a Health management benefit for health screenings, wellness programs, as well as weight management and fitness programs. This benefit is available on all extras covers except Basic Extras. 

School accident cover

School accident cover is available on our Family Extras cover in relation to an accident suffered by a dependent child who is a pre-school, primary or secondary school student that occurs at a school or school event. 

Years of membership rewarded

With Comprehensive Extras your annual limits increase at year 3, 5 and 7 of your membership.
