What’s included?
All our hospital covers include:
Treatment in a private hospital for medically necessary inpatient treatment where a Medicare benefit is payable
Cover for the full Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) fee for doctors’ charges as an inpatient, with 75% paid by Medicare and 25% by Union Health
Access Gap Cover to simplify your claims and eliminate or reduce the out-of-pocket expenses you’ll incur, if your doctor elects to participate in the scheme
Accommodation, theatre fees, intensive care, industry approved prostheses, and hospital medication in almost all private hospitals in Australia
Ambulance (when hospital cover is combined with an extras cover). See Ambulance information regarding cover for your state

What’s restricted?
For restricted services we pay the default benefit for accommodation as determined by the Government and no benefit for theatre fees.
Services restricted on your cover:
What’s excluded?
For excluded services we do not pay any benefit.
All our hospital covers exclude:
Gap fees charged by specialists over the Medicare Benefits Schedule fee
Experimental procedures/therapies
High-cost medications
Robotic surgery consumables
Services excluded on your cover:
Excess
This cover has a $500 or $750 excess to reduce premium costs
The excess is payable once per calendar year by adults on the policy if they are admitted to hospital (including same day surgery and procedures, such as chemotherapy and dialysis)
Dependants
Covers single dependants up to age 21 and full-time student dependants up to age 25
